Press release regarding process of repatriating Indian Nationals in phases through non-scheduled commercial flights to India as part of’ ‘Vande Bharat Mission'

PRESS RELEASE

As part of the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’, Government of India is in the process of repatriating Indian citizens in phases through non- scheduled commercial flights to India.

2) The following conditions have been laid down for travel on the flights:

a) Priority will be given to compelling cases, including migrant workers/ laborers who have been laid off, short term visa holders with expired/expiring visas, persons with medical emergency/ pregnant women/ elderly, those required to return to India due to death of a family member and students.

b) The airfare will have to be borne by the individual.

c) All travelers must be willing to undergo minimum 14 days mandatory institutional quarantine in India at own cost.

d) All travelers are required to give an Undertaking which is enclosed.

e) Only asymptomatic travelers will be allowed to undertake the journey

f) All travelers will have to download the ArogyaSetu App on their mobile devices.

3) Data of Indian citizens stranded in South Africa and the Kingdom of Lesotho is being compiled in this regard. Indian nationals wishing to return to India are requested to provide requisite details in the format enclosed and the Undertaking, to the Indian Consulate/ High Commission of India as per the jurisdiction mentioned below. Those who have already been contacted by the Indian High Commission and Indian Consulates regarding the return to India need not send the details again.
