The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, is organizing the 54th, 55th and 56th Know India Programme in 2019.  Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are welcome to apply.  Programme dates are as follows:

About the Know India Programme

KIP is an engagement programme for Diaspora youth of Indian Origin to visit India to know and learn about Indian society, culture, economic and scientific progress, etc.  It also provides a unique forum for students and young professionals of Indian origin to share their views, expectations and experiences and to develop closer bonds with the contemporary India.  KIP is a 25-day orientation programme with a view to promote awareness on different facets of life in India and the progress made by the country in various fields e.g. economic, industrial, education, science and technology, communication and information technology and culture.  Selected participants are provided with full hospitality in India for the duration of the programme.  Participants have to pay 10% of the cost of air ticket for their journey from country of residence to India and back before their departure. 

Eligibility

The age requirement for participation in KIP is 18-30 years.  Graduates or those pursuing their graduation may apply online.  NRIs are not eligible.  Applicants should be well conversant in English.

Applying for the Programme

Applications can be submitted online at the portal www.kip.gov.in

Requirements

Applicants are to submit online, a photo (strictly head and shoulder photo), copy of passport, educational qualifications, documents verifying Indian origin status, such as OCI/PIO card.  Those not in possession of OCI/PIO cards should complete the “Annexure 1 Form” and have it attested by the Consulate on the basis of related documents indicating Indian origin status before uploading on the KIP portalSelected candidates are required to have medical/travel insurance, medical certificate (not more than 1 month before ticket is issued) and passport with at least 6 months validity.  This is a mandatory requirement.  For queries, please contact 031-3350300 or e-mail kip@cgidbn.com
